ANTI/MONUMENTS

This project thinks over urban landscape and transformation, recreating and portraying public monuments whose themes have become part of Peruvian national identity: busts of heroes, allegorical representation of religious figures and pre-hispanic reinterpretations. The monuments are handmade rebuild replying the original construction process and portrayed with a large format film camera. The result is a photography of realistic and objective nature where the images can be interpreted as archaeological archives of historicist aesthetics.
