LANDSCAPE MECHANISMS – CUSCO

Developed at KAI – Art & Research Residence in Cusco (2018), Landscape Mechanisms grasps my concerns dealing with the idea of territory, its representations and transformations. These concerns have taken my work beyond the production of images, placing my ongoing projects in photography’s expanded areas of investigation.

It explores the concepts of landscape and territory, wondering about their correspondences and oppositions, as well as men’s relationship with his environment. I question myself ¿what transforms territory into a landscape? The concept is enhanced by various supports that work as visual mechanisms with whom the viewer interacts.

The project intends to break the traditional solemnity of the work of art. The interaction with the objects – made up of architectural elements belonging to the universe of windows – allows images to appear and disappear, fragment and hide behind other material elements.
